Danette Haworth and Violet Raines have a Website!

The website for Danette Haworth (me!) and Violet Raines Almost Got Struck by Lightning went live last night! Some pages are "coming soon," but the main pages are up and working. I don't have a cover yet, but the site does include an excerpt from Violet Raines. And a little about me.

Come visit! Danette Haworth or Violet Raines--both roads lead to my new house.

I'll be adjusting the blogs, too, might change the look of Summer Friend to match the website. And I'll shut down the Danette Haworth blog now that the site's open.

Come on over, then, and tell me what you think!

I like the "About Me" page. It breaks all the rules (it doesn't list a single credential) but anyone who reads it and doesn't like you is an ogre.

Thank you, Stephen!

Cool. I like the color scheme. And it's nicely set up and simple to access the links. Looking forward to seeing the cover.

I've got a bunch of green rectangles (links?) down the center, right through the text. I think they're supposed to be appearing to the left of the text. Maybe it's just me?

I like the colors!

Sorry, Danette. I'm having the same problem as Susan. I did love the look of the site, though.

It just occurred to me that I should mention I use Safari on a mac.

They look good. When I have more time I'm going to go back and read that first chapter.

Thank you, Charles and Travis for your comments on the look and layout.

Susan and Linda, thanks for letting me know about the problems! I will look into it.

I'm using Firefox and everything's looking good for me--looks GREAT in fact. Fab website, Danette. I had fun exploring it and definitely agree with Stephen. BUT! My favourite of all was the excerpt. I LOVED getting a peak at Violet and what voice!!! & The way you set the scene... !! Is it release day yet?! I can't wait until you can share the cover, either!!!

Cool site, Danette and an excellent first chapter - just enought to whet our appetite.

I'm also using Safari on a Mac. Not sure why that should change the layout, but it apparently does?

BTW, it's happening on the other pages, as well. The menu is just appearing down the center, instead of being aligned left.

I liked reading your excerpt, anyways! :)

I love the "About Me" page...you have such a wonderful sense of humor and I think your young readers of Violet will find you very approachable.

I read your first chapter and can't wait to read more!

Great Job and CONGRATS!!!

Hey, your webiste's great. I love the photo of you. You look very pretty (and very author-like)! I realy enjoyed the first chapter. Now I'll have to wait until the fall before I can find out if Melissa squeezed Violet's hand on purpose or not. I bet she did!

Thank you all for taking the time to look at my site and read some of the pages--it means a lot to me to get your comments. (And thanks for saying my picture looks pretty!) I can't wait to post the cover!

We're still working out the kinks to make the site compatible with Mac systems. Can't have green rectangles cutting through text! (Susan and Linda, your info was helpful to me--thanks!)

I love the setup of your website. And I agree with Stephen: the About Me page is very nicely done!!!

It has your personality, but is still crisp and professional!

Very nice!
