I have a funny story about that. Right when this came out, I was at the mall with a friend. We bought burgers (I don't remember if they were from Wendy's or not). She unwrapped her burger, nudged me, and theatrically lifted her bun saying, "Where's the beef?"
Yep, I remember this too. And my American cultural references are almost nil, so that's a Big Deal.
Ages ago, when I still ate meat on a regular basis, I ordered a hamburger and when I opened it up to put ketchup in it, I found there was a bite missing out of the meat patty. I stopped eating hamburgers after that.

Her beef was missing.
True story.
Great. Now I really want a Wendy's burger but I have to wait for Christmas to jump on a plane to go get one.
I love how gruff she is!
Hilarious!! Do commercials even call out the competition's name anymore?
AHAHAHHAH! I remember this!! Oh, that's actually sad, not funny.
:-)
